Evil Dead Burn has received a big update.
Evil Dead Burn will be the sixth film in the Evil Dead film franchise. Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, the movie stars Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Souheila Yacoub, and Tandi Wright.
What is the Evil Dead Burn update?
On Instagram, Vaniček announced that Evil Dead 6 has begun filming. He shared a couple of behind-the-scenes set photos, one of which features the logo for the movie, that can be viewed below.
Plot details for Evil Dead Burn remain under wraps at this time, though Vaniček did tell French website Konbini earlier this year that the film would be “nasty.”
“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested,” he explained. “I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
Evil Dead Burn will be Vaniček’s second feature film. He made his directorial debut with 2023’s Infested, a French horror movie about a massive spider infestation.
Buchanan recently told Collider about the new Evil Dead movie, “I’ve watched all the other Evil Deads, I made my way through them, and when I read the script, it’s unlike any of the Evil Deads. I guess the director has his own spin on it, and I was very excited. I really enjoyed the script. The actors are incredible, but I’ll leave it there.”
So far, the Evil Dead franchise includes 1981’s The Evil Dead, 1987’s Evil Dead II, 1993’s Army of Darkness, 2013’s Evil Dead, and 2023’s Evil Dead Rise. There was also an Ash vs Evil Dead television series that ran for three seasons, while a seventh movie is additionally being developed.
Evil Dead Burn will be released on July 24, 2026.
