We are now into week nine of the 2025 Fantasy Critic League… there is a long way to go, but we got some more games released this week, so scores went up.

We left off at week eight with the scoreboard looking like this:

The standings for Week 8

Over the last week there were two league manager actions.  The first I had announced last week, the removal of Wonder Woman as a pick due it being cancelled and the league warning me that I had to do something.

  • Publisher Rusty Shackleford (Shilgrod) has had the game Wonder Woman manually REMOVED by the League Manager.

In addition, I made one setting change to help allow people to drop titles.  I was looking for the setting that was making the league alert me about cancelled titles, but this was all I found.

• League Year Settings Changed
  • ‘Drop Only Drafted Games’ from ‘Yes’ to ‘No’.
  • (at Monday, 03 March 2025)

Maybe that will fix things.  It seemed like a good setting to change.  We shall see.

As expected, we saw three titles release in week nine.

• Two Point Museum has released!
• Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars has released!
• Split Fiction has released!

Two Point Museum already had a score last week and stayed firm with that.

That is a good solid score.

Split Fiction landed with an even better score.

90 is very good, but every point AFTER 90 counts double, so a score of 95 or so can really set you up with a single title.

And then there was Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars, which is too long of a name.  Perhaps it was the name that cause reviews to change over the course of a single day.

That wasn’t a huge drop, but it does demonstrate that scores can change.

Also demonstrating that was Rift of the NecroDancer, which went up last week.

The standings for Week 9

Potshot took over first place with the release of the Split Fiction, pushing everybody down a slot.  Potshot is now also projected to be in first place at the end of the season.  I remain projected at last place.

We also had one bid this week.

  • Won by Rusty Shackleford (Shilgrod) with a bid of $36

Coming up next week we have two releases coming, one on Tuesday and one on Friday.

Coming Up for Week 10

One of those titles already has a score posted.

  • Now has a score of 84.8

Scores only get added to totals when the game has officially launched, but that is a decent amount coming up.

That will give us something else to chew on when it comes to rankings.

Finally, there was one release update.

  • Release date changed from ‘Tuesday, March 25, 2025’ to ‘2025’.
