Warwick was just teased as next 2XKO fighter in boring cinematic

Published on:

Earlier today, 2XKO revealed an official cinematic that left the FGC uninspired, although we did get a glimpse of the next fighter to join the roster, Warwick.

The official 2XKO account on X shared the cinematic, “Ties That Bind,” featuring Courtney Laplante. It’s a generic song that sounds like it’d be featured in any of Riot’s games or esports events, but it’s fine. The cinematic itself also didn’t seem to wow the FGC, who responded with complaints that it felt uninspiring, only focused on certain champions, and that the Warwick reveal was a bit underwhelming since he lost.

“Doesn’t move me. I dunno what it is, just felt very draggy and unimpactful for a cinematic trailer meant to drive hype,” said one disappointed fan.

I think this is part of the whole “Riot trying to make FGC mainstream” instead of just making something that relates to the fighting game community specifically, but that’s just me. The song and visuals felt more like something they’d reveal at the League of Legends World Championship.

But let’s also be real: the FGC is made up of a bunch of haters and this cinematic is much better than more Chipotle ads.

Warwick revealed as next 2XKO champion

While 2XKO has already confirmed its full launch roster, many believe that Warwick will be released after the game is released. One account thinks it may be as early as January 2026.

However, Riot has not given any official details regarding Warwick just yet. In fact, it hasn’t even revealed if Warwick is coming at all. But that’d be quite silly to show him off so much in the trailer just to tell him to fuck off.

While 2XKO hasn’t wow’d me personally, I do think Warwick would be a great addition to the roster.

The trailer shows Warwick using some abilities he has in League of Legends, so he’ll likely be based on his MOBA playstyle. This means he may have a lot of self-healing capabilities that are triggered by damaging his opponent or even comeback mechanics at low health. He may have a pretty aggressive playstyle as well, lunging at his enemy like he does with Jaws of the Beast or leaping and stunning enemies like with Infinite Duress.

Warwick could definitely be a fun fighter for those who like rushdown playstyles. Also, he’s a giant werewolf, and that’s more interesting than another hot girl or Yordle for me.
